Aversion Therapy Research

10th March 2010

Tommy Dickinson is Senior Lecturer in Mental Health at the University of Central Lancashire and is undertaking a study of psychiatry’s past treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, which included giving people aversion therapy in a bid to 'cure' them. Tommy would like to interview former patients who have experienced such treatments.
If you are interested in taking part or would like to find out more please contact Tommy direct at TDickinson@uclan.ac.uk or on 01772 895531.
Given the sensitive nature of the subject, you might like to know that the research has been approved by the university’s Ethics Committee. And if you would like to find out a little about Tommy’s academic and professional background you can do so here. A flyer about the research is also attached.
Thanks and best wishes
